Squishy was obviously going to go with Caoimhe. It also wanted to explore space, to see where it came from and to satisfy its curiosity. "This seems settled," it said, looking around at them all before fixing its black eyes on Ire. "How soon can we be off?"

"I can answer that question!" A voice from behind them said. It was Kat. She was covered in some kind of filth, probably from an invention. "I have actually been working on creating a ship that could traverse space. If you guys give me a bit to stock it up with supplies we can have you going in a couple of hours." Kat said proudly. "Alright. Guess that gives us all time to pack and talk to our families so they know what's happening." Elli said to everyone.

Elli was mostly referring herself with the families comment. Of course, Daniel needed to see his father and Haley may have had some family, but no one else had anyone to tell. Though Caoimhe did have somewhere to go. "Gonna go tend to ma plants," she said, excusing herself from the room. She'd have to ask her neighbour to tend to them while she was gone, goodness knows how long for.

They all broke off and went to gather what they needed. Daniel's father was not happy hearing the news, but he wasnt going to stop Daniel. He was his own person, and although he would miss him, and Aaliyah, he was happy they were at least around a lot of people to help keep them safe. Ellis family was really upset, but they understood why she had to go. They knew just how important Knight was to her. They just hoped she would come back soon and be safe. Once everyone gathered their belongings and whatever they felt they would need, they all met up near the hangars. Kat was there, really excited for them to see what she had built. "wait are you coming with us Kat?" Haley asked. "heck yeah I am! I built the thing, plus Im the only one who knows how to work it." She said. Once they all showed up she revealed the ship. ( ok got 5 pics, gonna send them to you.)

That seemed like a fatal flaw to Squishy, only one of them knowing how to fly the ship, their only lifeline in the cold darkness of space. "Teach me how to fly this," it said to Kat, both admiring the ship and fearing for Ica and Caoimhe's safety going forward. It was learning selflessness. The others were all impressed by Kat's craftsmanship considering the time frame. "Are we gonna see the moon?" Aaliyah asked Daniel quietly, unable to hide some of the innocent excitement in her eyes.

"Of course I will teach you! I was planning on teaching a couple of you since it's bad that I'm the only one who knows how." Kat said. Oh she had plans to teach them. That was good. "I really hope so." Daniel said, also a little excited. He remembered when he was a kid he had wanted to be an astronaut. He really liked space. "Alright now that everything is all loaded up, lets board and get going." Kat said as she led them all onto the ship. Everyone took one final look at the base before heading on. Who knew how long they would be away? Hopefully they found what they were looking for so they could return to their family and home. With that they all got onto the shop and headed to the cockpit. "This ship is impressive." Ica said as they came on.

"Yes," Squishy agreed. "Less Star Destroyer and more Enterprise." Unsurprisingly, Squishy enjoyed sci-fi as much as it loved superheroes. Thankfully, Kat did make this place as liveable as sci-fi so that they would be comfortable. Caoimhe felt uncomfortable, though. Space was lifeless and cold. She didn't know how unnerving the silence of space would be without the colours of life constantly swirling around her.

"Let me give yall a brief tour. Then whoever wants to learn how to pilot can stay with me while the others find rooms." Kat said. She gave them a brief tour of their new home for the foreseeable future. They had all that they would need, bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, rec rooms, the works. It felt like anybody could live here. "Kat why did you build this ship?" Elli asked. It felt like Kat was eventually planning on moving into space. "I was planning on exploring space with a small team of researchers to discover alien lifeforms. That was until they all started coming to earth." Kat said. Guess that made sense. But thanks to that happening now they had this miraculous ship to use to explore the galaxy. After a short explanation of how the controls worked, it was somewhat complicated but it could be managed, they were ready to take off. Kat had everyone strap in as they looked out into the night sky. Everyone looked out as Kat counted down and pretty soon they were in the air. Everyone had one last look at their scenery. Who knows how long it would be until they returned? As they felt the shuttle begin to shake as it flew into the sky, they all said their goodbyes to earth for now as they rocketed off into space. The launch was a bit rocky, but once they exited the stratosphere, everything was smooth sailing. "Everyone...welcome to space." Kat said proudly as they could see the vast universe spread out before them.

Aaliyah had asked several times why they weren't wearing spacesuits like Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and the other guy, but Kat kept saying they didn't need them. It disheartened Aaliyah a bit, because ever since she'd learned about the spacemen she'd wanted to dress like them. The ship created a pleasant background noise, and looking out into space made her feel... Drowsy, for some reason. Like they were so little in this vast cosmos, but that was okay. Pretty soon, she'd dozed off with her head on Daniel's shoulder. Squishy was fascinated, and began naming every star for Ica. It had been reading up on their stellar neighbourhood. Caoimhe was afraid that outer space would be dead and silent, and kept her eyes shut until she was encouraged to not be afraid and to look out. It was beautiful out here, all the stars and all the universe sparkling down at her. But was what most beautiful, and beguilingly intriguing, was a thin blanket of life energy that stretched out everywhere in the darkness between the light. It was every colour and no colour. It was energetic and still. It was molecular and immense. Caoimhe promptly passed out from the enormity of it, and had to be carried to the med bay.

Haley was kind of freaked out but it more than she thought she would be. It was so vast and empty that looking out at everything made her queasy. When Caoimhe passed out, she took it upon herself to take Caoimhe to med bay so she wouldnt have to look out at everything anymore. Ica was intrigued but even more fascinated by Squishy naming all the stars. It was so happy to be out here and it made Ica happy to see Squishy enjoying itself so much. Daniel had a sparkle in his eyes as he gazed out. Memories of him wanting to be an astronaut and his father telling him about the solar system flooded into his mind. Also memories of his mother. His mother loved to star gaze. He knew both his parents would be thrilled if they could see this. Daniel gently put his hand on Aaliyah's as he continued to gaze out into the cosmos. Kat was so happy right now. She finally made it into space! Now they were on a mission, and she would make sure to get them all back home safely. A little while passed and nothing much happened. "Hey, where exactly are we headed?" Ica decided to ask Kat. "Well for now we are going to head to the moon base and see if they picked up any readings on where Knight might have headed." Kat said.

"How long will it take us to get to the moon?" Squishy asked Kat. It was worried that if it took too long to get to the moon, then space beyond would take years to explore. It didn't know how long it could live, but it knew the life expectancy of its human comrades. Caoimhe soon came around after Haley put her in bed. "Ugh, ma head," she groaned, clutching her throbbing temples. Aaliyah hummed slightly, clearly enjoying the view and this closeness with Daniel. She felt so small and insignificant, and yet, so complete. Here with friends, with Daniel, living well and feeling happy. This was all she'd ever wanted.

"About another hour. This ship was built to travel through space quickly! If you look you can see it coming up soon." Kat said pointing out the ships windows. "The moon is coming." Daniel said excitedly to Aaliyah. They would get to see the moon in a little bit! And apparently there was a moon base? "Do we have to wear suits to get to the moon base?" Daniel asked. "Well yeah. No air in space kiddos." Kat said. "Heya. Do you need anything? Something konked you out real good." Haley said quietly.

But the moon was so close to Earth. Getting to it in an hour was impressive, but it would still take countless hours to get further out into the stellar neighbourhood. Aaliyah lifted her head off of Daniel's shoulder and looked to the side out the window, seeing the moon approaching. "W-will we see moon rover?" she asked quietly, after Daniel inquired about suits. Caoimhe looked up at Haley and shook her head. "Just overwhelmed," she said. It was probably best to leave it at that, she didn't want to confuse the girl with the cosmic horror she'd discovered.

"Maybe. If they were gonna have it, I would think it would be at their base right?" Daniel said to her. "Once we land we'll get the info then fuel up. I also need to pick something up, so while I do that, you guys can gather the info alright?" Kat said to everyone who was present. "Sounds good." Elli said. She had been quiet for longest time, thinking about Knight. Space wasn't incredibly impressive when youre girlfriend was a cosmic deity. She was fascinated, but was more worried about finding Knight. "Yeah. this whole thing is crazy overwhelming huh? Just a few months ago I never thought I'd be flying into space to find a super powerful alien woman. Life is crazy huh?" Haley said with a smile.

"What information?" Aaliyah asked Kat, who hadn't been very specific about what she wanted them to find out. Maybe she would explain that to them. "Mm," Caoimhe agreed in a murmur, looking idly up at the ceiling. "I'm kinda excited to see what other life we'll find out there." Aliens had been good and bad in the brief time she knew they existed, so what would they discover as they journeyed into space?

"The information on which direction Knight went. They would have detected her once she entered orbit. Once we find a direction we should be able to figure out which way we need to go next." Kat said. They approached the moon, seeing it much more closely now, but for some reason Kat had a perplexed look on her face. "Whats up kat?" Elli asked. "This is weird. They should have hailed us by now. Probably someone sleeping on the job." Kat said with a sigh. "I have...that weird feeling in my gut again." Ica said to Squishy. "I am too. and a little scared. If it's anything like the movies, we might be dealing with big bugs or scary tentacle creatures. I'd rather avoid those." Haley said with a grin.

"Do you need to go to the bathroom?" Squishy asked Ica, knowing that funny stomach feelings normally meant a trip to the toilet. Unless this was the other kind of weird gut feeling. "Is there something afoot?" it said more quietly, staring at the moon as they approached it. "Those might be the friendly ones," Caoimhe pointed out. "A-anyway, thanks for the help. Let's go back to the others?"

"Its the something afoot funny feeling." Ica told Squishy. That feeling seemed to be confirmed when they received some kind of signal from the base. It was fuzzy and unclear but they could hear some kind of sos from whoever was in the base. "Well...that does not bode well." Kat said. "Kat what was that?" Elli asked. "I'm not sure, but I am sure that we might have a bit of a problem on the base. We need to land and make sure everyone is alright." Kat said as they approached the moon base. "Hehe I suppose you could be right. Yeah, lets head back. I bet we're really close to the moon now!" Haley said excitedly.

"I am starting to suspect that aliens are not friendly," Squishy said, with a hint of sarcasm in its voice. Its only experience with aliens, including the ones who bred it, was that aliens were not friendly. Even though it was being sarcastic, it put its arm protectively around Ica's waist. "Ya head back," Caoimhe said to Haley. "I gotta sit for a bit longer. 'Kay?" She didn't want to see outside again.

"Well there shouldn't be any aliens on the base, only humans." Kat said to Squishy. Although to it guess humans might be aliens. Haley and Caoimhe felt the ship shake a bit as they were coming in for a landing. "Oh I think we're landing." Haley said to Caoimhe. There was still no contact from anybody which was worrying Kat as they landed in the hangar. There was nobody to welcome them either.

Aaliyah and Daniel had left the cockpit to explore the ship a little more, so they missed the discussion about not getting a response from the base. As such, when they docked into the hangar bay, Aaliyah was a little excitable. "Do we get to wear spacesuits now?" she asked Kat as they returned.

"Uh yes, we need to wear suits just in case something is going wrong with the oxygen levels." Kat said. "Why would there be a problem?" Daniel asked, as the others also came in. "It seems there might be a situation here. We got a distress call from the base and we need to check to see what happened." Elli said. "Oh great. Our first stop in space and there might already be a problem." Haley said sadly. "lets hope it's not something serious." Ica said. "Lets get the suits on and go check it out." Kat said as she led them to a room filled with suits. "Whoa. These kind of look like Tenpo's suit." elli said. "They are somewhat adapted from hers. Call them sister suits if you will. Put them on and they will adjust to your body size." Kat explained. She gave them an example as she stripped down and then put the suit on. It was way too big for her, but she twisted a knob on her side and it began to shrink down and fit around her small frame.

[Cool suits!] They all did as she said, taking off the outer layers of their clothing and putting on their suits, which all fit perfectly. Aaliyah did feel a little restricted with her tail and heightened senses being dampened. Caoimhe soon joined them, and suited up. "There's somethin' big here," she said cryptically. "Somethin' that ain't right... Heh, I look like Tenpo now," she added in a lighter tone. Spekaing of Tenpo, the original suit was still curled up beside Zeke's bed back on Earth. She was worried he would never wake up.

(thanks! XD) The suits were pretty cool. This was making Haley really excited!! Daniel couldnt help but be a little excited too. He was finally an astronaut! "Let's all be on our guard. We don't know what we will find in there. Caoimhe, will you be able to guide us to any people that are in the base? We need to get some answers." Elli asked Caoimhe. As if to answer her pleads, they began to detect a little life from Zeke. He hadn't fully awoken but he was showing signs he would be waking up soon!

"Uh huh," Caoimhe confirmed. She could see life energy much better these days, including energy through several thick metal walls. Such human life energy was visible to her towards the centre of the base. "Some people over there," she pointed. Tenpo heard the increase in his heart rate on the monitor, but it didn't make her react too much. Zeke's heartbeat often spiked randomly. Still, she sat up slowly and stretched. It was probably time for her to leave again. Zeke's family would be visiting him and they didn't much like her.
