Into the Spiderverse

Millie got a bit sad at that and leaned away. These two must have been through so much, it couldn't have been easy having an ability like this, not to mention the experimentation. She'd had it pretty easy compared to these two. She gave Jet a sympathetic arm rub, still not wanting to touch Havoc just in case. But then their demeanour changed and she looked around nervously. "Uh, okay," she agreed, trusting their judgement. Her senses heightened slightly with the tension as she looked around to try to see who it was.

Millie had kept her hand on Jet's arm where she was rubbing him, holding onto him to try to keep herself calm and to not panic. "Stay positive," she said in her mind. "Stay positive." A panic attack would be the worst thing right now. She was so focused on being positive that she didn't notice how cool Jet looked in his outfit. Dang, she'd left the top half of hers and her boots under her bed, and she was wearing a hoodie and sneakers instead. Must have looked so lame... "That's not the one who broke the machine," Nadja growled. "And not the one who saved him." She vaguely remembered it being a taller, darker skinned lady.

Millie winced and stepped forward slightly to shield Jet from whatever it was, but then he threw up a big shield of ice in front of them both. "Awesome," she breathed. Okay, it was three on two but Jet had this cool ability and she had hers. They could do this. Except she hadn't noticed a piece of shiny scrap metal behind the two of them. Nadja had found another nearby and disappeared into that, then reappeared behind them. She grabbed a wire and lashed out, wrapping it around Millie's neck in a flash. Millie gagged and choked as she was dragged backwards.

Millie's head was starting to hurt from lack of oxygen from the strangulation. Nadja snickered as she pulled her back towards the mirror. "You're pretty pathetic," she sneered, watching Millie kick and swing her arms about as she struggled. "Even that little twerp was a better fighter than you." Little twerp? Who could she be talking about? Millie's lips were starting to turn blue as she wheezed and struggled. Maybe it was time to not be so positive... Her drooping eyes flared open as she gripped hold of the wire around her neck with renewed strength, and focused a concentrated blast on energy on it. It didn't affect her, but melted the wire and made it snap. Nadja squawked in surprise as her own momentum made her fall back into the mirror dimension. Millie quickly reached into the hood of her hoodie and pulled out her mask, stretching it over her head quickly. This thing helped focus her energy blasts a bit better. She looked at the guy who was just observing and shot beams of pink energy from her eyes at him.

Before Millie could attack the Huntsman again, Nadja had leapt out of the mirror once more and tackled her to the ground. They scuffled a bit, Millie firing off a few shots from her hands and eyes, until one of them hit the mirror and smashed it into pieces all round them. "Ohoho, big mistake little girl," sneered Nadja, as she rolled over and somehow disappeared into one of the smallest shards. Uh oh. If she could do that then she could come up from any one of them. Millie tried to blast the shards into dust as quickly as possible, but Nadja kept leaping out at her and cutting her with shards of glass. She was essentially surrounded by one person, and every time she tried to get out of the shards, Nadja would appear and push her back in.

Nadja tried to leap up out of another shard but got stuck in some black sticky goo. "Ew, argh!" she grunted, trying to struggle her way free. Millie looked around at Jet, but then back at Huntsman. She fired another shot of energy at him. Did she... Ignore Jet to carry on fighting? What happened to the sweet Millie who listened to everything Jet said?

Millie had had slow reactions before the incident that had changed her life. Had she been a normal human, whatever the Huntsman shot at her wouldn't hit her. But she wasn't normal - she somersaulted backwards and avoided the hit, then as soon as she landed she sprinted right at Huntsman. She wasn't noticing the hell that Jet was going through.

Millie kept sprinting towards the assailant and then suddenly leapt up into the air, somersaulting over him. She was about to shoot another beam at him from above, but being upside down and facing the other way meant that she could now see Jet. "Jet? Havoc?" she squeaked. Her momentum was lost and her battle stupor dissipated when she saw her new friend and his symbiote getting beaten up. She should be helping him, fighting as a team not solo- she got distracted and fell head first into the ground, all her grace and coolness gone in one awkward slump. "Oof," she groaned, sitting up and rubbing her neck.

Millie felt the gun on the back of her head and turned around slowly so that she could look up at the guy pointing it at her. It wasn't the first time she had a gun on her, but this time was much scarier than the other times for some reason. Maybe because the man with the gun was way more intense. She was trying to think of what to do, but Jet was getting so beat up over there...

Millie had seen the light, and was figuring out what to do next. She had five seconds- four seconds to think of what to do. Jet was getting pretty close to being beaten to a pulp. Taking a deep breath, Millie slapped the barrel of the gun to the side so it wasn't pointing at her anymore, and somehow shot forward like a bullet between the Huntsman's legs and zipped at unholy speed right into the neon light. She was inside for only a moment before she shot out again like a bullet, right into Asura's chest. She bounced off him like a spent pellet, slightly stunned, but the force was immense on him. Landing beside Jet and stumbling slightly, she grabbed him and zipped again into the neon light, carrying him into a world of swirling lights and deafening buzzing sounds.

Millie was trying to look for a way out. She could see lights everywhere, but she'd tried to go through normal lights before and it hadn't worked, it had only spun her around a lot and made her dizzy. Only the very specific light emitted by neon signs, for some reason, was strong enough to travel through, and neon was a dying medium. She finally saw one and propelled towards the pink portal. The pair of them zipped out from a neon sign above the entrance of a nightclub, and landed hard on the concrete in front of a crowd of drunker onlookers. They only cheered at them. Millie groaned in pain, not realising that she'd shielded Jet from the impact of the fall by holding his head to her chest.

"Blugh!" Nadja squawked, finally freeing herself from the thick goo that had been imprisoning her for most of the fight. She glared at the Huntsmand and Asura. "You two let them get away?!" she snapped in disbelief, completely ignoring the fact that she had been incapacitated the whole time so hadn't helped them. Millie smiled mirthlessly and got up too, taking her mask off so she could breathe a bit better. "Thanks," she rasped. Her neck was red and raw from where Nadja had wrapped the wire around her throat. She saw him struggle to stand up so she supported him by putting her hand on the small of his back, though she herself was dizzy and sore. "You two were pretty awesome," she added with a smile.

Millie nodded in agreement. "Only problem is... I don't have any money," she said awkwardly. No money for a hotel or whatever, nor food or anything really. What were they going to do here? They might have to squat in an abandoned building or something.
