Beyond Space & Time

Hmm... Well one thing was clear. Wolfie was definitely in love with young Atlas, though he didn't seem to realise it yet. It was an odd transition to go from loving someone as a daughter to as a potential partner, but that seemed to be happening here. Allura couldn't compete with these feelings - so she would help them along. She was nothing if not a helpful and hopeless romantic. "Does she know you feel that way?" she asked Wolfie.

"But are you content?" Allura asked him, taking a step closer. "Why don't you tell her again? You say she's growing as a person - perhaps she will react differently this time."

"I doubt that would happen," Allura said warmly. "She's stuck with you you for this long. Surely she wouldn't leave over something like that."

Allura bowed her head slightly. "I have all the time in the universe," she reminded him. "And I will always make time for you, 'Deus." Even if it was to hear him talking about other women. She clapped her hands together. "How about we go down there and join her? You always used to pretend you held distaste for festivities, but I know you secretly enjoyed them."

Allura flipped her hair over her should and sauntered out ahead of Wolfie, leading him back down into the streets. Atlas had unintentionally gotten into the middle of a dancing troupe and was trying her best to go along with it.

"Yes," Allura agreed, going into the group alongside Wolfie. Except when they got closer to Atlas, Allura split up from Wolfie and moved away. The two of them didn't need her in there complicating things, as she was sure she was already doing.

Atlas squeaked when Wolfie spoke to her. "W-Wolfie! Didn't notice ya there, hahaha!" she stammered nervously. That was strange, with her enhanced hearing. Her mind must have been elsewhere. She tried to look natural as she looked around. "Um, where's... Your friend?"

Atlas shrugged. "It's my first time everywhere we go," she pointed out. "But... Thanks." Him showing concern for her and not just running off with an old flame made her feel... Important. Even though she herself had run off with someone brand new not long ago. Wolfie was so much more mature and better than she was. Atlas smirked and snorted with laughter. "Your dancing is all off," she said, as she began to move with more fervour and rhythm, imitating the other dancers around her. "Here, do it like this."

"Well, maybe it's time to teach this old dog new tricks," Atlas teased, doing a little twirl. He was still awkward in his movements, but he was a good imitator. But then the music slowed and everyone around them started pairing up and... Oh no.

That was a few hundred years ago, and Atlas felt... Differently then. Atlas stopped dancing for a moment and looked sheepish. "I wanna... Keep dancing. With you?" God, she was so lame.

Atlas gingerly put her hand in his. Did he always have such big hands? Gulping, Atlas stepped closer and put her other hand on his shoulder. "Y-you lead," she prompted him.

Atlas enjoyed being led by Wolfie, and after a few minutes of it being awkward, she had settled into the rhythm and was leaning fully against him. His warmth, his scent, the feel of his body holding hers - he was her only constant in an always changing, never ending life. Her eyes caught a glimpse of Allura watching them from the sidelines, and her smile fell. "We... Shouldn't," she said reluctantly. "Your friend is watching and she might... You know, get the wrong idea."

"You know what I mean," Atlas said, a little exasperatedly. "But... You're right. I'm sorry. Can we continue? It's nice." Of course, he wasn't feeling the same things Atlas was so he only saw this as 'just dancing'. They were 'just dancing'. It was nothing deep or anything. Of course. If anything, this was like a father-daughter dance right? Yeah, that's what this was. Atlas smiled at Wolfie as she kept hold of him, wanting to dance more.
