Into the Spiderverse

Millie followed Jake to a tee, even crouching down low with him. Then she shot Asura in the eyes with lasers for what felt like the umpteenth time. Wanda swiped each punch to the side, avoiding any impact thanks to years of martial arts training. She grabbed his wrist after a punch that came particularly close to her head, then yanked his arm and headbutted him hard. N-N was only pinned for a moment, before Jet heard a whirring sound. N-N's hands had turned to spinning blades and she cut through the webs in seconds. He would have to do some serious damage if he wanted to slow her down.

"Ooh, nice shot!" Millie whooped. She aimed for the mouth too, wondering what would happen if the lion swallowed some lasers. So this would be a battle of whose head was harder. Wanda braced herself for the impact as they both butted each other in the head. Ow, this guy had an incredibly hard head. She shook the stars from the eyes quickly, and reached for a small knife in her belt. This fist fight was about to get bloody, but got the feeling that she wouldn't be able to use it much. The ice seemed to bounce off of N-N's body for the most part, but some did embed themselves into her metal skin. This slowed her approach but she was still coming.

"Ooh, I can do that!" Millie turned towards Asura and began to glow brighter and brighter. She amped up a little more, than uttered a battle cry and shot at Asura like a big neon bullet. Wanda saw the knife come out and grabbed at Huntsman's wrist, preventing him from making a stab at her. N-N was getting bored of this pursuit. She decided that she had enough samples of this boy, and now she wanted to study the others. She stopped charging at Jet and turned to look at Wanda creepily.

"Woo, we did it!" Millie whooped when Asura was pinned to the wall. She kept her powers on hand but let her guard down, assuming they had at least a little while before he could get free. Wanda saw the move just in time and twisted her body out of the way, but that brought her right into the crook of his other arm. She snarled and elbowed him in the jaw. N-N struggled a little and started to slice through the webs again, now being irritated by Jet's interference. "Your friends outside need to be sampled," N-N said blankly.

Millie's spider senses tingled too, but for some reason it wasn't because of the threat tearing towards her. It was something else, coming from the other way. So when Jake went to barrel her away, she jumped towards him to push him in the opposite direction, and they ended up smashing hard against one another. "Ow!" Millie squeaked. As Asura bore down on them, something else got to them first. They were both surrounded by a thick inky darkness that pressed down on them like they were being wrapped in cold plastic. They couldn't move, could barely breathe, and they felt themselves being dragged somewhere away from one another. The knife kick was... Completely useless, because without enough force behind it the knife would just bounce off her leg. Which it did. At the same time though, Wanda's spider senses tingled like crazy. Something big was coming, bigger even than the lion man. Huntsman could feel her tense up in anticipation. N-N seemed to stop struggling and looked towards the door. "If you think I am playing with you, then you have another thing coming," she said, citing human idiolect in order to strike fear into Jet's heart. She had sensed Equinox approaching and knew the spiders were in for a rough time.

The 'witch' appeared out of the shadows behind Asura and ran her hand over his body as she glided by him. "Oh don't pout," she purred. "Let me have my fun, and I'll let you have yours later~." With a smirk, she sashayed into the building. Wanda grunted as she was floored, with Huntsman pinning her down from on top. She momentarily re-focused on him and throat punched him sharply to get him off of her, because there was a shadowy figure approaching through the door who looked like a much bigger threat. Equinox looked around the room, at the Huntsman pinning a female spider and a male spider on the ceiling surrounded by black goop. Guh, what a disgusting scene.

Wanda rolled into a standing position and quickly reached for her pistol, firing five shots at the shadowy woman. Equinox took all of them to her head and chest, but then seemed to just sink through as if she weren't solid at all. Was she an illusion? Before Wanda could charge her, a wall of ice was between her and the woman. Wanda glared up at Jet. "We need to go," she hissed.

"Forgetting something?" Equinox asked from behind them from the darkness. She smirked and held out her arms, making Jake and Millie materialise out of no where. They both looked like they'd had the shit beaten out of them, and both had had their masks ripped off. Millie looked at Jet and whimpered, but then Equinox hugged them to her chest and they appeared to vanish into her. Equinox chuckled darkly and held her hands out to the remaining spiders. "How about you join them?"

"No!" Wanda snapped, grabbing Jet's waistband and yanking him back. Only, he appeared to be stuck in there so when she pulled, he didn't come back out. "Oops, that was easy," Equinox murmured with a wry smile. She wrapped her arms around Jet like a hug and pulled him into her, with otherworldly strength and minimal exertion. Wanda struggled to pull him back but her feet skidded on the floor as she too was pulled in. She managed to yank her arms back just before they were swallowed by shadow but now she was alone in this place with four hostiles, one of whom she would class as a cosmic being. "Shit," she hissed, reaching for another gun in her holster and pointing it at the witch. "Give them back!"

Wanda turned her head slightly, but kept her eyes locked onto Equinox who was the biggest threat in the room. Equinox... What a dumb name. But fitting. The witch was just staring at her, smiling mirthlessly. Wanda was really wide open from an attack from behind right now.

Equinox looked satisfied by that outcome, and turned to the others. "Good teamwork, everyone," she said, in what seemed like a mocking tone. "Now let's get these insects back to... To... Oh my." She clutched her chest suddenly and looked uncomfortable. Her dark countenance was glowing with light that burst from her like sun through clouds. "Interesting," she murmured, before her chest thrust outwards and out leapt Millie, dragging Jake and Jet with her. She was all aglow with brightly coloured light but her eyes were expressionless. Was she in some sort of berserker mode of her own? As she blasted forward, Equinox fell backwards and disappeared into her shadowy realm. Millie grabbed at Wanda and they all blasted out of there.

Equinox was... Pissed off to say the least. They knew she had shadow-based powers so why hadn't they warned her that the weird looking girl had light-based powers? Of course light beget shadows. Ugh. Morzo would be displeased with her, not that that scared her but it would be a hassle to deal with him when he was having a temper tantrum. She would blame Asura for not warning her. And next time, she would not take the light girl so... Lightly. Millie dropped them all a little ungraciously onto the rooftop and collapsed in a sweating, panting heap. "Jesus Christ," she groaned, rubbing her forehead. "I dunno what she did to us but it hurts." Wanda was coming around now and rubbed the back of her neck in irritation. She had been evenly matched with that man until the witch distracted her, and now she was bested.
